Quadency is a cloud-based, comprehensive, professional trading platform. It combines a unified trading platform, where you can manage your portfolio across multiple exchanges, with automated trading bots, news, research, charting and a whole lot more. This is a feature rich platform. It has a few features, like Smart Suggest, that you won’t find at it’s competitors. Founded in New York in April 2018, Quadency is the new kid on the block. But, that doesn’t seem to be holding them back as they have become a real contender in that short period of time.
There are three plans available, Hodler, Pro and Institutional. Hodler is a free plan that has most features available, but comes with several limitations with regard to trading volume, number of trading bots, etc. The Pro plan is $49.00/month ($39/month if billed annually) and comes with much higher limits then Hodler, as well as some additional features. The Institutional plan has all features available and comes without limits, but you have to contact them for a customized price quote. If you trade on one of their official exchange partners, the limits on trading volume are eliminated. While this doesn’t affect people on the Institutional plan and won’t be a big deal to most Pro plan users, it could be quite significant for the Hodler plan users who are otherwise limited to only $10,000 of trading volume monthly. The current exchange partners that qualify are: Binance, Bittrex, Kraken, KuCoin, Liquid and OKEX. In addition, Quadency has promotional offers that they run in conjunction with selected exchange partners. Right now, any trader using the Liquid exchange, whether current user or new user, receives a Pro plan upgrade for free for six months. For traders who set up a new account on Binance, KuCoin or OKEX, the same promotion is available. For existing users of these three exchanges the promotion is limited to three months free. Credit or debit cards and crypto are accepted for the annual plan. However, only credit and debit cards are accepted for the monthly plan.
This is a cloud-based service so it is accessible from anywhere, and from any device. There is no installation or maintenance necessary. While cloud-based systems are extremely convenient, there is a small trade-off in security as all billing and trade data are stored on Quadency’s servers as opposed to the trader’s computer in a local install. This is likely only a consideration for the most privacy/security conscious traders.
Binance, Bitfinex, Bittrex, Coinbase Pro, Gemini, HitBTC, Kraken, KuCoin, Liquid, OKEx and Poloniex are all currently supported by Quadency, with more on the way. Please note that the Kraken interface does not yet support automated trading bots.
As with most trading bot services, the trading bots connect to your exchange via API and don’t have a withdrawal function. This means anyone accessing your Quadency account would not be able to access any funds. They would only have access to billing and trade data. Furthermore, all network communication, billing and trade data are encrypted such that gaining access to it would be fruitless. As a financial industry best practice, all systems undergo regular penetration testing to ensure that unauthorized access never occurs. On the client side, two-factor authentication is available, and in the event you try to log in from a new IP address, they will send an email asking for confirmation and requiring you to click a link to verify it is actually you attempting to sign in before allowing access to your account.
Quadency has a standard backtesting feature that is comparable to those of their competitors. What sets them apart from their competitors is a feature they call “Smart Suggest”. Smart Suggest is backtesting on steroids! How does it work? Here is how their website explains it: “Smart Suggest is powered by Quadency’s proprietary Hyper-Parameter Optimization Engine – a technology that leverages a swarm of cloud servers to concurrently process thousands of backtests daily by trying different parameters combinations for each bot. Negative results are discarded and profitable ones (including those conducted by users) are further fine-tuned until a cache of diverse configurations is generated. This process repeats continuously to adapt to the ever-changing market conditions.” Essentially, they have done all the work for you. You just need to a pick a pre-tested strategy and copy it. What could be simpler than that?
This functionality does not currently exist. But, it is planned to make it available in the next few months.
Drag & Drop Bot Builder
Quadency does not have this feature. Please note that customization of trading bots is only available on the Institutional plan.
Strategy Coder is Quadency’s integrated customization tool. It uses Python for scripting, giving you the ability to create completely customized trading bots. This feature is only available with the Institutional plan.
Advanced Order Types
The Unified Trading Platform has all the advanced orders you would expect to find on a professional trading platform. In addition, the Smart Order bot can place “hidden” orders. Essentially, the bot posts your order (limit order, stop-loss and take-profit, etc) internally and simply tracks the market until price moves such that your order would be triggered, and only then places the order with the exchange. This keeps other traders from seeing your orders in the order book.
Supports Leveraged Trading
Leveraged trading is not currently supported. It is planned for the future.
-Unified Trading Service: connect all the exchanges you use and trade on them simultaneously
-Portfolio Analytics: monitors all your crypto assets (even offline) and tracks performance
-Advanced Charting: powered by TradingView
-News: news feed imported from Messari
-Research Section: market data imported from Messari
-Competitions: enter trading competitions to win prizes
Quadency is a professional-grade trading platform that is absolutely loaded with features. It may not appeal to some advanced traders because they currently don’t support leveraged trading and fully customizable bots require the Institutional plan (with unknown pricing). However, for beginner to intermediate traders there is a lot here to like. The Smart Suggest feature makes it a simple task to create a trading bot that is profitable right out of the gate. Beginning traders may be able to use the free (Hodler) plan, especially if the trading volume limits are waived due to trading on one of the partner exchanges. For anyone willing to trade on one of the partner exchanges, the ability to have access to the Pro plan for up to six months for FREE, is a slam dunk! And for everyone else, $49/month seems like a very reasonable price for everything available on this platform.
